“The Choice” for Kanata-Carleton in the June 2018 provincial election

January 15, 2018 – The Ontario PC candidate in the new riding of Kanata Carleton – Dr. Merrilee Fullerton – is recognized as an individual with much to offer. Professional, political and civic leaders in Ottawa are coming forward to endorse Dr. Fullerton’s candidacy in the June provincial election.

Fullerton for Kanata-Carleton, Kanata, ElectionFrom the medical community, Dr. Beverly Johnson MD CCFP, National President of the Federation of Medical Women of Canada states:

“I have known Merrilee for over 20 years since our son’s played on the same soccer team ( yes her husband was the coach) and then we worked together in a Medical Clinic in Kanata. Her experience as a Family Doc has given her good listening and communication skills and an important knowledge of the issues impacting our health care system.

“She is thoughtful and has a positive, solutions-focused approach. Merri can help us do better with primary care – we really need voice’s like Merri’s in Ontario’s Parliament. For that reason, I am pleased and proud to volunteer for and support Dr. Merrilee Fullerton in our upcoming provincial election.”

Fullerton for Kanata-Carleton, Kanata, ElectionFrom the conservative community, former Senator and stalwart Conservative Marjory LeBreton says:

“In this up-coming provincial election, it is tremendous to have such a smart, conscientious and hard-working individual as Merrilee Fullerton as your candidate in Kanata-Carleton. She is a quality person who has a great deal to offer. She brings her extensive knowledge and expertise to addressing health issues such as hospital over-crowding, long-term care services and the opioid crisis. Merrilee will be able to draw on her long history of involvement both as family physician and as a mother raising three children in this community.

“As the PC candidate, she will bring a responsible approach to representing us. I know Merrilee as being characteristic of a Leslie Frost or a Bill Davis conservative: having a solid appreciation for the potential and the limits of government; fiscally prudent, yet always prepared to provide a hand-up to those who need it.

“I am fully endorsing Merrilee Fullerton to ably represent the interests of Kanata-Carleton residents and of the City of Ottawa at Queen’s Park. We need more people like her in public office.”

Fullerton for Kanata-Carleton, Kanata, ElectionFrom a civic leader, Mayor of Mississippi Mills Shaun McLaughlin says:

“I am mayor of the neighbouring town adjacent to West Carleton and our rural communities and economies overlap. We have many aspirations, challenges and beliefs in common. We struggle with high energy and policing costs, an infrastructure gap that is difficult to bridge, costly regulatory downloading from Queen’s Park and the feeling of being ignored. Merrilee has proven to me she is in tune with our issues and I’d welcome her as our MPP next door.”

Fullerton for Kanata-Carleton, Kanata, ElectionGlen Cairn resident and another long time conservative Colin McSweeney observes,

“It is not surprising that Merrilee continues to be recognized as a the quality candidate that offers so much by way of her professional career, her life lessons raising a family here in Kanata, not to mention her positive, result-oriented manner that allows her to make a value contribution to whatever she is involved with. People recognize this because she is genuine, hard-working and caring about people.”

Mr. McSweeney was so impressed with Dr. Fullerton that he assumed the responsibilities of managing her campaign, “She is a wonderful person and Merrilee will make a great MPP for our community. Merrilee Fullerton is the choice candidate in Kanata-Carleton to best represent our concerns and interests at Queen’s Park.”
