“I am re-posting “My Promise to You” in case you missed it earlier this year. I look forward to the chance to serve you as our PC candidate in the next provincial election” – Dr. Merrilee Fullerton

June 12, 2017 – As you may be aware, due to Ontario’s increasing population, 15 new provincial ridings have been created. As a result, the former Electoral District of Carleton Mississippi Mills has been split up and you now reside in the newly created provincial riding of Kanata-Carleton.

In early 2016 I was approached by several local Ontario Progressive Conservatives who encouraged me to seek the provincial nomination in this new riding of Kanata-Carleton. They felt that with a new riding and our new P.C. party leader Patrick Brown it was time for a new representative in Kanata-Carleton. I spent the next few months speaking with hundreds of Progressive Conservative supporters in our community and an overwhelming majority agreed that it is time for new face for the Ontario Progressive Conservatives in Kanata-Carleton.

So let me tell you a bit about myself.  My husband Steve Kaminski and I have deep roots in Kanata-Carleton. I have lived in Kanata-Carleton since 1967; grew up on Kingsford Court and graduated from Earl of March High School. After graduating from the University of Ottawa Medical School, I practiced medicine for more than 26 years, first serving out of the Carleton Place Hospital and then as a family physician at Med-Team Clinic on Kakulu Rd. in Kanata.

I care deeply about the issues that are important to you and your family – issues like skyrocketing hydro costs, long waits for basic medical services and what the damaging policies of Kathleen Wynne and her Liberal Government mean for jobs, taxes and our future prosperity. As a mother of 3 children, I can’t sit back any longer. This is why I am stepping forward to become a candidate in the next provincial election.

If you entrust me as your Progressive Conservative candidate in this new riding of Kanata-Carleton, I promise to do the following:

  • I will campaign fulltime from today right up until the polls close on election night to make sure that we win this seat.
  • I will conduct myself with dignity and respect in all my actions and never make you embarrassed that I am your representative.
  • I will listen to your concerns and speak out at Queen’s Park with a positive voice for the issues and interests of our community.
  • I will work cooperatively with other politicians at all levels of government in the best interests of Kanata-Carleton and the National Capital Region.

I cannot accomplish these commitments for change without your help. To have the best representation for Kanata-Carleton, you can do two things right now.

  1. Visit www.votemerrileefullerton.ca and follow the instructions to become a member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario (everyone over 14 years of age can be a member). It is important to know: you must be a member to vote in the nomination.
  2. Commit to take an hour of your time on nomination day to come out to the nomination meeting and vote for me. You must attend the meeting to vote.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact my campaign by email or phone. Someone will get back to you in short order.

Sincerely,

Merrilee Fullerton
