Asks Government to direct Hydro One to treat their customers with respect
October 19, 2016 – Dr. Merrilee Fullerton is calling on the provincial government to direct Hydro One to set the rates for their customers within the City of Ottawa at the same rate that Ottawa residents pay Ottawa Hydro.
Dr. Fullerton is fully supporting Ottawa City Councillor George Darouze who is in Toronto today to take his case directly to Premier Kathleen Wynne and Energy Minister Glenn Thibeault.
“This is about fairness and about Hydro One treating their customers with respect,” says Dr. Fullerton. “Why should people in Osgoode and in West Carleton pay more than City of Ottawa residents? They are all City residents and they should be treated the same.”
“I am adding my voice to that of George Darouze and Lisa McLeod, to ask Kathleen Wynne to stand up to Hydro One and make this situation right for residents of West Carleton and other rural areas within the City of Ottawa.”
Dr. Merrilee Fullerton is running for nomination of the PC Party in the new riding of Kanata-Carleton. The riding encompasses the township of West Carleton, the western-most borders of the City of Ottawa, serviced by Hydro One.
