Dr. Merrilee Fullerton: Get a membership and get involved in making our community better

August 5, 2016 – Merrilee Fullerton is active selling memberships in her efforts to become the Ontario Progressive Conservative candidate in the new riding of Kanata-Carleton for the next provincial election expected in Spring 2018. As a retired doctor, Merrilee wants to be a voice of positive change to contribute to the decisions that are needed to be made to get Ontario back on track.

Merrilee has been busy through June and July, attending numerous community events to talk with constituents and hear about the issues which are most important to the residents of Kanata-Carleton. Along the way, Merrilee has been encouraging residents to purchase a membership with the Ontario PC Party. “Being involved in my community has always been of great importance to me. By me taking the step to get involved in politics, I feel I can provide my expertise and career experience to changing the direction of our Province.”

“I am asking people to consider purchasing an Ontario PC Party membership as I see this as a great opportunity to create positive change.” Merrilee added, “Getting a membership will support my chance at being a candidate in the next election and it can provide an avenue to have more of a say in presenting alternative ideas for our community.”

Dr. Fullerton explains being a member of the Ontario PC party has many advantages for all Ontarians. Membership provides concrete opportunities to be part of policy development, party leadership selection, and local candidate election. Similarly, members are provided with timely party news and are invited to events with party executives and elected officials. These benefits allow members to directly influence the direction of the party. It represents an opportunity for all Ontarians to have their voices and concerns heard.

Merrilee comments, “Everyone, from local business owners frustrated with high taxes, to residents who can’t cope with increasing hydro rates, has a place in the Ontario PC Party. I encourage people to join and speak out because their issues and personal experiences can contribute to policy developments and changes that will matter when the next election comes about.”

Membership with the Ontario PC party is available to all Ontario residents 14 years of age and older. Merrilee says, “This is a great opportunity for young people to learn about the political process. Making suggestions and seeing a policy change, or helping your candidate get elected is empowering and is a great introduction to the democratic process.”

Residents of the new riding of Kanata-Carleton have the opportunity to buy a PC Party Membership and support Dr. Merrilee Fullerton in her bid to win the nomination.
